OS settings: how to allow camera and microphone access in Windows

If the system reports missing permissions, check the privacy settings in Windows.

Windows 10

1. Select Start → Settings → Privacy → Microphone.
   
2. Make sure the switch is enabled in the Allow apps to access your microphone block.
3. In the Allow desktop apps to access your microphone block, make sure the switch is also enabled and your browser appears in the app list.
   
4. Select the Camera section.
   
5. Make sure the switch is enabled in the Allow apps to access your camera block.
   
6. In the Allow desktop apps to access your camera block, make sure the switch is also enabled and your browser appears in the app list.
   
7. In the app list below, find your browser, such as Chrome or Edge, and make sure access is allowed for it as well.
8. Then select Microphone in the left menu.
9. Enable the Allow apps to access your microphone option.
10. Make sure your browser appears in the list of allowed applications.

Windows 11

1. Open Start → System → Privacy & security.
2. Select the Camera section.
   
3. Enable the Camera access option.
4. Make sure your browser appears in the list of apps that are allowed access.
   
5. Go back and select the Microphone section.
   
6. Enable the Microphone access option.
   
7. Make sure the browser appears in the list of allowed applications.

After the changes

1. Close the browser completely.
2. Open it again and go to the interview page.
3. The system will ask for permissions again, click Allow.
